(Clery Timely Warning)
Type of Offense: Burglary
Today’s Date: May 26, 2024
Date and Time of Occurrence: May 24, 2024 (approximately 4:30 AM)
Location: 1621 E 1 Street, Tucson, AZ (Theta Xi Fraternity)
Reporting Agency: UAPD / CASE # 2405250002
Synopsis: On 5/25/24 at 10:09 PM, UAPD received a report of a burglary that occurred on 5/24/24 at Theta Xi Fraternity. Security cameras on the premises captured an unidentified male, carrying two bags, enter the fraternity house through the front door. Subsequently, the cameras captured the suspect, carrying additional bags, exit the house through the back door. Numerous interior doors were damaged with intent to gain access to multiple rooms. At the time of the incident, there were no residents present at the fraternity house.

Status: UAPD is actively investigating this case.

Keep your doors and windows locked.

Familiarize yourself with the security systems and procedures utilized in your building.

Be sure to lock up your vehicles, residential hall rooms, and offices when you leave. Remove any valuables from sight or take them with you when you leave.

Do not allow anyone to follow you into your residential hall or a secured area and be sure to secure spaces that are unoccupied to reduce the risk of a crime of opportunity.

Keep a record of all keys issued. Master keys and extra duplicates should be locked away for safekeeping.

Maintain an inventory of all office equipment; include the make, model, and serial number of each item. Keep this inventory in a safe place. Keep it current by adding the identification numbers of all new equipment.

Please do not delay in calling 911. UAPD strongly encourages the reporting of criminal or suspicious activity in a timely manner.
