Peace Officer Physical Aptitude Test (POPAT)
Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training (AZPOST) requires all police recruits to pass the POPAT to graduate and become a certified officer in the State of Arizona. The test consists of:
- 500 yard run
- 99 yard obstacle course
- Body Drag
- 6 foot chain-link fence
- 6 foot solid wood fence
Recruits will also need to demonstrate proficiency in the areas of Firearms, Driving, and Defensive Tactics in order to graduate.
