Type of Offense:  Aggravated Assault
Today’s Date:  October 3, 2024
Date and Time of Occurrence:  September 26, 2024 at 11pm
Location:  West of 2nd Street and Park Avenue - University of Arizona Main Campus
 
Reporting Agency:  Tucson Police Department / Case # P2409300213
 
Synopsis of Crime or Offense:  On October 2, 2024, UAPD was made aware of an Aggravated Assault that occurred west of the UA Main Campus. The assault was reported to the Tucson Police Department (TPD) September 27, 2024, and TPD took the report on September 30, 2024. The night of September 26, 2024, an individual was at the intersection of Park Ave and 2nd St when he became involved in a verbal altercation with two individuals on the west side of Park Ave and 2nd St. The two individuals then assaulted the victim. Following the assault the victim then made his way to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
As a result of this assault, the victim suffered broken bones and other injuries to his head including temporary vision impairment.
 
Suspect Description: Suspect #1 is described as a white male, 18-25 years of age, approximately 5’10” to 6’ tall, with long blonde hair. Suspect #2 is described as a white male, 18-25 years of age, approximately 5’10” to 6’ tall with short brown hair.
 
Status:  Tucson Police Department is actively investigating this case.
 
Definitions: Aggravated Assault: An unlawful attack by one person upon another for the purpose of inflicting
severe or aggravated bodily injury. This type of assault usually is accompanied by the use of a weapon
or by means likely to produce death or great bodily harm. (It is not necessary that injury result from an
aggravated assault when a gun, knife, or other weapons is used which could and probably would result in
serious personal injury if the crime were successfully completed.)

  • Being aware of your surroundings can help reduce risk.
  • Please do not delay in calling law enforcement. UAPD strongly encourages the reporting of criminal or suspicious activity in a timely manner.
