UAPD Investigating UArizona Library Arson
 
TUCSON - The University of Arizona Police Department responded to a report of a fire inside the Science and Engineering Library, located at 744 N. Highland Avenue, Friday at 11:36 a.m.
 
Officers observed smoke and flames inside a bathroom on the 2nd floor of the building and assisted with the evacuation. Fire crews with Tucson Fire Department were able to extinguish the fire and keep it contained to the bathroom. No injuries were reported.
 
TFD Fire investigators determined a toilet paper roll dispenser was ignited inside the bathroom and suspect arson was the cause. There are no known suspects at this time. The building will remained closed to the public as crews work to clean and repair damage. The extent of damage and costs to repair are currently unknown.
