TUCSON, Arizona – On Friday November 8, 2019 Chief Brian Seastone officially introduced and “swore in” our newest member, explosive detection K9 Skip.  Skip is a 22-month-old chocolate Labrador from Custer, Washington.  He was provided to UAPD through funding from the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation (SALEF).

Skip was trained by Pacific Coast K-9 and is certified by the National Police Canine Association in explosive detection.  Skip’s UAPD handler/partner is Officer Lauren Connell, who is 16-year veteran of UAPD.

Officer Connell and Skip will join UAPD Officer Kyle Morrison and K9 Toby to provide an additional valuable resource to our campus community.  Please join us in welcoming Skip! Please follow Skip and Toby on Instagram: @UArizonaK9.
