UAPD Canine Skip Nominated for the 2022 American Humane Hero Dog Award

The American Humane holds an annual, nationwide competition that recognizes the heroes on both ends of the leash. There are seven categories of canines the public can vote for but only one dog will be awarded the American Hero Dog title. Our Skip was nominated and selected for the “Law Enforcement and Detection” category. He is competing against 17 other canines in this category from around the country. He is the only canine from Arizona in this category. The first round of voting opens today at 12pm Pacific Time/3pm Eastern Time at Hero Dog Awards. You can cast a vote each day.

The first round of voting will determine the top three dogs in each category moving on in the competition. I encourage you to vote for a canine of your choice in this competition. The American Humane was founded in 1877 to promote the safety, welfare and well-being of animals. Their leadership programs are designed to promote and nurture the bonds between animals and humans.
