On January 26, 2019, The University of Arizona Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery, that occurred near the Environmental and Natural Resources 2 Building (ENRB2). UAPD issued a UAlert and circulated the area attempting to locate the two males who were associated with the armed robbery. The males were last seen leaving the area south on Park Ave from 6th Street. They were not located.

 

UAPD is asking for your assistance to help identify two individuals of interest

 

 

Suspect descriptions:

  • Two Hispanic males
  • 16-22 years of age
  • Both 5’8 to 5’10 in height
  • Weight approximately 140 pounds
  • Thin build
  • Black backpacks
  • Black bandanas over their faces
  • One was wearing a maroon hoodie, the other a dark hoodie
  • Carrying a handgun

Robbery Prevention and Safety Tips

  • Trust your instincts – if you sense trouble, move to a safe location as soon as possible.
  • Remain alert and be aware of your location and surroundings- walk with your head up, avoid carrying many items, show confidence while walking.
  • If possible, have your phone ready.
  • Utilize Cat Tran or Night Cat
  • Call ASUA Safe Ride at 520-621-7233 for a free ride on campus.
  • Call UAPD at 621-UAPD (8273) for an escort from a police officer or a police aide.
  • If confronted, try to stay calm, follow the robber’s directions but do not volunteer more than what they ask for and explain your movements
  • Be the best witness you can be.  Make mental notes of race, age, sex, height, weight, hair and eye color, build, and clothing. Note anything unusual about the robber, such as scars, tattoos, strange mannerisms or speech patterns.
  • Give the robber time to leave, and when you feel safe, CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY.
