Aggravated Assault-Stabbing

University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center – 1303 E. University Blvd.  

 

TUCSON, Arizona – The University of Arizona Police Department (UAPD) is investigating an assault which occurred inside the Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) on the University of Arizona campus.

On August 29, 2020 at 8:10 a.m., UAPD received a call from an employee of the SUMC who reported having been attacked inside the building. Officers from UAPD responded and located the victim, who suffered an injury but was alert and conscious.

The victim reported while walking through the building, two (2) suspects were located inside a locked room. The suspects attacked the victim with an edged weapon before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to Banner-University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects have not been located and are described as follows:

    • White male
    • College-age
    • Blonde hair
    • Red shirt
    • Basketball-style shorts
  • Suspect #2
    • White male
    • College-age
    • Gray tank top style shirt
    • Jogger-style pants
