A Message From Chief Seastone on Current Events

June 2, 2020

The treatment of Mr. George Floyd, resulting in his tragic death, is appalling to me both as a citizen and as a law enforcement professional. These actions are completely contrary to sound police practice. This was wrong.

I want to reassure our community that UAPD members are committed to our motto, “Partners with Our Community.”  Professionalism, integrity, compassion, training, understanding, and open, honest dialogue are paramount for us to be successful in maintaining the trust and respect of our community. This is even more important in today’s world.

I reiterate my commitment to being open, to listening, and to working with all members of our UA community to help make UAPD an even better department. I invite your input and I can be reached via email at seastone@arizona.edu

Together we can make a difference.

Be safe and well,

Brian A. Seastone
Chief of Police &
Assistant Vice President
