While a Deputy with the CCSO, he was assigned to patrol the unincorporated communities of eastern Cochise County. In 2000, Jason began his career with The University of Arizona Police Department as a Police Officer. With UAPD he has served as Patrol Officer, Motor Officer, Corporal, Lieutenant, and now in his current rank of Commander. Prior to his promotion to Commander, Jason served as the Operations Support Division Lieutenant, overseeing the daily operations of UAPD's Motor Unit, K-9, Training, Crime Prevention programs, PIO, and Special Events. Prior to the Operations Support assignment, he served as Field Operations Lieutenant overseeing Uniformed Patrol. Throughout his career Jason has instructed on various topics as a departmental trainer, and has overseen UAPD’s firearms program. Commander Brei is an active member of the FBI National Academy Association and the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police.
