Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education--The University of Arizona, 1992: Assistant Chief Keith Brittain began working at UAPD in 1989 as student Community Service Officer, and became a Police Dispatcher in 1991. After graduating from the UA, Keith became a certified Police Officer. Assistant Chief Brittain promoted through the ranks as Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander, and in July of 2014 he was appointed to his current rank. Over his career he has been a Field Training Officer, Bicycle Patrol Officer, Firearms Instructor (pistol and rifle), TASER Instructor, Armorer, and General Instructor, and Training Coordinator. Assistant Chief Brittain now heads both the Field Operations and Operations Support Divisions encompassing the uniformed certified and non-certified Field Patrol, Investigations, MGIO, Dispatch Communications, Property and Evidence, Records, Traffic Unit, Training, Crime Prevention/PIO, Special Events, and Accreditation.
