The University of Arizona Police Department has made an arrest in Monday's reported sexual abuse of a UA female student.

Djamel Benslimane is being held in Pima County Jail on charges of sexual abuse after he was identified by the victim, according to UAPD. The incident occurred while the woman was walking in the 1500 block of east Speedway Boulevard. The victim was able to push away the assailant and call 911. No injuries to the victim were reported.

The incident was promptly reported by the victim, and UAPD worked from her description to create a composite drawing of the assailant. A patrol officer used that rendering to observe a man matching the description. After additional investigation, the victim's positive identification of the man led officers to arrest Benslimane.
