On June 29, 2013, at approximately 2:00 a.m., an armed robbery occurred near 2nd Street and Cherry Avenue. The victim, not affiliated with the University of Arizona, was at an off campus event and departed in the suspect vehicle described as a silver Ford Explorer with three unknown males suspects. The vehicle drove to campus where the victim was subsequently robbed of his personal property. The victim received minor injuries.
On July 9, 2013, detectives from The University of Arizona Police Department arrested Lion Loustaunau-Lopez in connection with the armed robbery. Further investigation led to the arrest of David Crim on July 10, 2013. All three suspects have been identified and the investigation determined these two suspects were responsible for the robbery.
Loustaunau-Lopez and Crim were booked into the Pima County Jail and each charged with one count of Armed Robbery, ARS 13-1904A1, a class two felony. The males are identified below.
