A Message from Chief Brian Seastone
Welcome to the University of Arizona Police Department (UAPD) website. I hope that you will find the information on our site helpful and informative.
We want you to think of the UAPD as your “hometown police department.” We will do the right thing for the right reason and will do our best to enhance this great institution.
Our vision for the department is really quite simple: To advance the safety and success of the university through professionalism, integrity, and collaboration. The success of the university, including student achievement and faculty research, depends greatly on maintaining a safe and secure environment where people feel comfortable, safe, and welcome. UAPD plays an important part in the overall mission of the U of A, and we maintain important partnerships inside and outside of the university.
The UAPD has dual accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). This accreditation means that UAPD has met and continues to meet high standards of professional excellence.
The department has 64 state-certified police officers and 51 civilian employees who are here to help and respond to your calls 24 hours a day. To report an emergency, dial 9-1-1 from any telephone or use one of the emergency blue light phones located across the university. For non-emergencies, please call 520-621-UAPD (8273).
We are proud of our department and we are honored to serve the students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the University of Arizona.
Be safe and Bear Down!
Brian A. Seastone
Chief of Police
